I wanted to try this mod after I read a cool '1 km bluetooth link to cell phone' article at slashdot.org a while back. Since there weren't any guides showing the mod at that time, I would rely on another MSI BToes dongle modification.
But cool things happened right after I placed the order for the adaptor, a new slashdot article was published with links to more indepth guides to modify the adaptor. A simple and clean guide was published in the science magazine "Popular Science", online version here., and another more detailed over at bluedriving.com. I almost wish I bougth a different adaptor now, it's getting to easy.
Soldering a coaxcable directly onto the circuitboard seemed to be impractical, so I'm going to add a SMA surface mount connector to the circuitboard instead.
